This proposal explores the development of a new three-bedroom HMO on a constrained infill site in Hanwell, London. The design responds carefully to the surrounding residential context, drawing on successful examples of urban infill development to create a distinctive yet sensitive addition to the streetscape.
The scheme combines a single-storey frontage with a two-storey rear element, creating a clear architectural form while respecting neighbouring building lines and minimising impact on adjacent properties. Sustainable design measures include photovoltaic panels, an air source heat pump, permeable paving, green roof systems and biodiversity enhancements.
The result is a considered residential proposal that demonstrates how small urban sites can contribute positively to housing provision while delivering high-quality design and environmental performance.
