CAMILLA DEMPSTER

ARCHITECT

Camilla has a particular interest in environmentally responsive architecture and the relationship between design, material and building performance. She enjoys the technical side of design and the process of working through how buildings are constructed, detailed and experienced, from environmental strategy through to the smaller decisions that shape everyday use.

Having recently completed her BSc (Hons) Architecture at UWE Bristol with First Class Honours, Camilla is a Certified Passivhaus Designer and is particularly interested in applying environmental thinking throughout the design process, rather than treating sustainability as an addition to a finished scheme.  Her studies have also developed an interest in regenerative architecture, adaptive reuse and the social value of existing buildings.

Camilla joined Shu Architects in 2026, attracted by the practice’s combination of low-energy design, conservation and practical project delivery.  Alongside work she enjoys hiking, camping and bouldering and spending time with her family.
